IT’S A HORRIBLE SCAM!

This last weekend was a computer disaster!

Norton let me down…and now I have walked away from Norton.

Without warning, computer demons took over my two computers, shooting “high risk” warning messages all over my computer and preventing me from launching “help” programs or rebooting into safe mode.

I was freaking out, believing I was headed toward another meltdown.

INTERNET SECURITY 2010 IS BAD ASS!

I’ve not faced a computer intruder as bad as Internet Security 2010 malware.

Apparently, this demon appeared in early December 2009 and has swept through computers, wreaking havoc all the way on computer users not able to troubleshoot on their own.

“It killed my computer! I think i got it bad, I tried everything and it took over really fast. Can’t login into the OS – I can boot from the CD but after a while i keep getting error codes and fails. When i try safe mode i get the blue screen of death. i tried UBCD4Win but nothing. I think the only thing i can do is buy a new hard drive.” –Mr. M.

IS2010 Strikes Fast….

Suddenly, a bunch of error messages appeared on my screen, warning me of SERIOUS virus attacks and that intruders were stealing my content. One of those warning screens appears below claiming “high risk” spyware and virus threats:

In the next instant, several other warning screens pop up, including the next one (see below), which looks like an official anti-virus software scanning application:

Internet Security 2010 occurs when “Trojan.Downloader” gets downloaded onto your computer, activating warning messages that “your computer is infected!”, along with suggestions that “Windows will now download and install the most up-to-date anti-spyware for you.”

It appears LEGIT….

However, it is NOT legit….

This is a SCAM to get you to unlock the full version for around $50.00!

All the while, you are locked out of your computer, as the Trojan returns alerts stating, “Application can not be executed. The file is infected. Please activate your antivirus software.”

All these WARNINGS look like genuine messages generated by Windows.

Fixing becomes another problem!

Step-by-step for removing
Internet Security 2010 Scam!

1. First, I downloaded the FREE version of Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware. Click link to get it.

2. I then extracted the file and installed Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware by double clicking on winlogon.exe

3. Follow the prompts. Make sure that Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware are checked. Then click finish.

4. Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware will automatically update itself after the install.

4.1 If you receive a Setup error stating Unable to Execute File or if IS2010 keeps shutting down Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware as it’s running, click here to download the add-on for Anti-Malware that tricks ISO2010 (I had to d/l this add-on since IS2010 refused to allow Anti-Malware to run freely on my computers).

4.2 Do not rename the file which you just downloaded. Navigate to C:\program files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\ then copy and paste it there.

4.3 Double click the file which you just pasted in C:\program files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\ in step 4.2.

Click “perform quick scan” & sit back

5. Make sure you are on the Scanner tab. Select Perform quick scan then click the Scan button as shown above.

6. Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware will now start scanning your computer for infected files as shown below.

Even a quick scan takes too long…but you want to see “objects infected”

7. When the scan is finished a message box will appear, click Ok to continue.

I hope your prayers are answered with ZERO objects infected after a 2nd scan

8. Click Show Results.

9. You will now be presented with a screen showing you the malware infections (it will be an obvious list marked in RED).

10. Click on Remove selected. Above you see that my second scan completed successfully with NO malicious items detected

11. When removing the files, Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware may require you to restart the computer in order to do a complete removal. If it displays a message stating that it needs to restart, please allow it to do so.

12. After that you can close the Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware window, your computer is now cleaned.

13. If for some reason, you still have an issue with an infection hiding inside a system restore point, try running CCcleaner, a nice little tool useful for cleaning “junk” from your computer. Click Here now to d/l Ccleaner

Important: 5 years ago, Spybot and Adaware were the best programs out there. No longer! If you still rely on Spybot and/or Adaware, dump them! In fact, my friend suggested getting rid of NORTON as well. He claims you’re better off using a combination of Malwarebytes and AVG. I purchased the PRO version since MalwareBytes’ Anti-Malware now is considered the BEST.

Internet Security 2010 removal key should (hopefully) walk you step-by-step through the process of restoring your computer to its pre-horror operating condition. Unfortunately, some people cite problems beyond my fix. I pray this fix works for you. Please leave me a comment sharing your frustration with computer malware, spyware, viruses, etc. I decided about 6 months ago to go back to APPLE once I replace computers. Though no computer is problem-free, Apple works more reliably than Windows…. You can argue this point with me, but it won’t do any good.

Just before Internet Security 2010 occurs, Trojan.Downloader is dropped on the machine, which starts to display warning messages that “Your computer is infected!”, along with suggestions that “Windows will now download and install the most up-to-date antispyware for you.” This is an obvious fraud.

Trojan make much damage to computer such as blocking most programs. Trying to open computer application a message will appear stating that:

* Application can not be executed. The file is infected. Please activate your antivirus software.

This WARNING is looking like a genuine message notice generated by Windows.
